Training Pathway for Solar PV Design Specialist Certification (PVDS)

Notice: PV201 or equivalency is a requirement for all Solairgen advanced courses.

PV Design Specialist (PVDS): This certification shows that you have demonstrated the ability and expertise to design both the mechanical and electrical design components with confidence, accuracy, and safety. 

Requirement for Advanced PV training: Complete 24 training hours from an accredited program, 6 of which must be National Electrical Code (NEC) training hours.

Solairgen Recommended Courses:

Option 1 = 24 hours: PV202 Online

PV202 Solar PV Technical Design – 24 hour Includes 6 hours NEC and 2 hours fire safety 

Option 2 = 30 hours: PV222 and PV224 – Online

PV222 Interactive PV Configuration – 12 hours Includes 6 hours NEC and 2 hours building & fire code

PV224 Energy Storage PV System Configuration – 18 hours Includes 6 hours NEC and 2 hours building & fire code

Option 3 = 40 hours: PV203 – In-class with hands-on labs

PV203 PV System Design and Installation – 40 hours Includes 8 hours NEC and 6 hours building & fire code
