Kelly is the President of Provence Electric Inc. and CEO of its subsidiary, Solairgen, founded in 2002 as a renewable energy design and installation company. In 2007 Kelly focused the mission of Solairgen exclusively as a solar PV installation training company. He has written and developed numerous solar courses from entry level PV system design to advanced design and installation.

Three of these courses are IREC accredited and all are approved under the NABCEP Job Task Analysis. Mr. Provence is a strong supporter of NABCEP certification and continues to provide educational support to the industry. Several of his students have gone on to become CEOs and officers of the top solar PV integrators in the U.S.

Prior to switching from PV system designer/installer to PV trainer, Kelly designed and installed over 200kW of battery-based PV systems. As a consultant, he has designed or consulted on over 10MW of grid interactive PV systems.

His credentials include two NABCEP certifications, Certified PV Installation Professional, and Certified PV Inspector. He also holds two emeritus certifications, Certified PV Technical Sales Professional,  and Certified Solar Thermal Installer. Additionally, Kelly has also been a Licensed Master Electrician since 1995. In 2011 he was awarded Certified Master PV Trainer status from the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC). One of only a few people in the entire U.S. to hold four Certifications from NABCEP and IREC Master PV Trainer status.

Although graduating with a degree in Marketing and Management, he has spent most of his professional life working on electrical systems and solving solar PV engineering problems. In addition to training individuals for a professional carrier in the solar industry, Kelly trains other trainers from Technical Colleges. Recently he has provided Certified Solar Analyst training for the Georgia Green EMC program.
